This is the end of Holy Week. Tomorrow is Easter. I will write more on my thoughts of Easter tomorrow.
I am blessed to be able to baptize 17 youth tomorrow at the third church of 4 that I will be leading worship. Yep, you read that right 17 baptisms. In one worship service. I want to have a group picture of me and the 17 being baptized. Easter is a wonderful day to have a baptism. A few years ago, I was blessed to be part of the baptism of a friend’s son at an Easter Vigil service. Yeah Charlie!
Receiving children into the family of God is an awesome experience. Last Easter I was blessed with 2 baptisms. But 17 is something special for me.
If you have not been baptized, I encourage you to speak with a minister about becoming baptized.
This started at a funeral. I was asked to do a funeral at a little church just north of Pine Ridge. During my time there I was asked about leading an Easter Worship. The next conversation about Easter was a request to do a few baptisms. I agreed, asking for the names to fill out the certificates. I received the list with 16 names on it. Today someone stopped at the parsonage asking to add one to the list for tomorrow.
God is good and God loves you.
