The Reconciliation Center is a busy place. The kitchen itself is the hub of the center. It is amazing how much happens in the kitchen.
Four years ago, the kitchen was expanded. This was before I took over. At the time, the anticipated use was simple. 30 sandwiches a day. Prep for kids’ time meals. Let groups make their meals.
Simple, right? Maybe add a couple of small meetings.
The floor looked awesome when it was brought in.

And it worked well.
But as the center became busier, the floor could not keep up. It actually became dangerous.

Now, the kitchen is in use 7 days a week, hosting people almost all day. We provide 3 meals a day, 7 days a week. Upwards of 150 hot meals are prepared each day. Plus, as many as 80 kids time meals on a regular basis. It hosts multiple meetings. The laundry is busy all day long. And many many people stop in for one type of help or another.
The Job Corp works hard to keep the kitchen clean, sanitary, and organized. The new floor is designed to be wet mopped. And will hold up to the increased traffic.
I work with some incredible people who take pride in the center. If you would like to support the people who make up the job corp, you can send a check to:
