It is the happ-happiest time of year. At least, that is what the world, songs, commercials, and Hallmark movies would have us believe. But for many, it is a hard time of year.

Every sermon I preach during December, I include a reminder that not all are celebrating with joy. I ask that you take the time to check on others. Perhaps you know someone who is experiencing the first Christmas after the loss of a loved one. Or someone who can not be with their family this year. Or someone who feels alone and forgotten.

If you are the one who is not experiencing joy, I want to let you know that you are still a beloved child of God. You have worth. And you will get through this season.

God loves you. And so do I.

Thank you and Merry Christmas to you Pastor Dan and family. Our Pastor at St. John has a “Longest Night “service for those that aren’t joyful at this time of year. It is a good time to reflect and be reminded that our loved ones in Heaven are spending Christmas with Jesus this year. Wow!
