Yesterday while talking with my doctor about my diabetes, I pointed out that my blood sugar has come down since I came out to Pine Ridge. I mentioned I move a lot more than I did when I was in St Louis.
I also commented that I have noticed my fasting rates are much lower when I get at least 10,000 steps the day before. I try to get up from my desk regularly. I walk to the store and the post office. I rarely drive when I am in town if I can walk.
Last year Jackie and I decided to get a treadmill. I did not use it much over the summer but recently I have made it a regular habit to spend time on the treadmill. I use the iFit app and follow their trainers. It motivates me to walk longer and to go faster. Plus, they take you through some cool places. Tonight, I explored the Pink Temple in Mexico. The trainer explained some of the things we were seeing and pointed out other items that would have been easy to overlook.
My goal is to average over 10,000 steps a day and to have 200 workouts logged this year. I want to have a long active life. This means eating right, moving more, meditating, prayer, and keeping my brain active. I cannot take care of others if I don’t take care of myself. I humbly ask God to help me do what I need to do.
I know God loves you, and so do I.
