I love my job. I love knowing that every single day I, with the help of my incredible staff, will make a difference. Every day, we help to provide help, which we hope provides hope.

Every week The center:  provides 21+ meals. Equips 7 support groups to help provide healing. Thousands of cups of coffee are given away. Hundreds of loads of laundry.  Clean new socks, underware, and other clothing are handled out. Hours of comfort away from scorching heat or freezing cold. Help is given to acquire ID’S l, Social security cards, and other documents.  Guidance is offered to help work through paperwork makes and job applications.

One of the most powerful things we give is relationship. A listening ear. Showing people that someone cares about them. People who are often forgotten find that they matter.

That is ONLY a part of what the center offers. Diapers, blankets, and hygiene kits are given away. Kids are fed and made to feel safe.

The Center is a busy place. Sometimes, it is chaotic. It can overwhelm.  It can feel like we are not doing enough. We can question if we are wasting our time. Particularly when someone we have invested time and energy into falls. At times there is so much happening it is hard to keep up.

At the end of the day, it feels good to know we did something. I like to slow down and pause. To clear my mind. To breathe. To listen to the voice of God. One of my favorite places is by the local dam. Especially a sunset.

There are times like tonight where the sky is nothing special. But still peaceful.  Other times God puts on a spectacular show. But always, I am reminded of God’s Love for all of us.

God loves you, and so do I.
