Sometimes, this feels like a thankless job. You work and work and hope to see results. And a simple thank you goes a long way.
Most often, I get complaints more than thanks. And I get it. Every day, we deal with hurting people. And hurt leads to anger. And when I have to say no to a request , I will anger people. And as a bonus, I get people that explode at me, asking what kind of pastor I am. Or since I am a pastor, the expectation is that I have to help no matter what the request.
Which brings me to thank you notes. They mean so much to me. Someone taking the time to write a heart felt thank you can really brighten my day.
Recently, I was a supply pastor at a church in the black hills. The regular pastor wrote a beautiful thank you note. It made my day.
And I do get thanks from many in the community. It goes a long way in helping me get through each day.
I do what I do because God called me to this place. And every day, I do my best to let the goodness of God shine through me. Because God loves these people and so do I.
